How to Use Magnetic Therapy to Improve Your Sleep

With high stress jobs and busy home lives, many people find that they are unable to fall asleep, or that they are unable to remain asleep throughout the night. Today, insomnia is a common malady for millions of people, but magnetic therapy may prove to be an inexpensive, yet successful treatment. Magnetic therapy is the application of magnets to affected parts of the body. In the case of insomnia, many believe that magnets may aid in relaxation, which in turn may improve your chances for a better night's sleep.

Things You'll Need:

Magnets

Illustrated guide to magnetic therapy

Place Magnets Properly for Best Results

1

Attach a magnet under the ankle bone near the inside of the foot. Consult an illustrated guide for exact placement (see Resources below).

2

Place another magnet just under the ankle bone on the outside of the foot.

3

Affix a third magnet about 3 inches above the ankle, very close to the back of the shin bone

4

Secure a magnet to the back of the hand, at the "V" formed between the thumb and the first finger.

5

Put one on the inside of your wrist, on the side nearest to the small finger, on the bone that can be felt there.

Use Magnetic Therapy in Conjunction With Other Treatments

1

Try yoga, which relaxes the whole body. If you are relaxed, you are more likely to get a good night's sleep.

2

Light a scented candle or some incense. Soothing aromatherapy may improve your mood and induce relaxation or sleep.

3

Use hypnosis to encourage calmness that can also lead to a good night's sleep.
